About The Author

My name is Rachel Fenimore and I am a professional babysitter. I am not a mom although I feel like I have a bunch of special kids. I work for a company called Seeking Sitters. This company works with parents and sitters from an online calendar. We are giving the option to pick and choose when we are available and which jobs we are willing to take. It is a flexible, well paying job that has locations all over the United States. It is easy for parents and easy for sitters. I have been involved with this company for over 4 years now and it has been the perfect job as a student. Sometimes I have the same kids that I watch every week and sometimes I sit for different families at different times.

Over the years I have accumulated ideas and “tricks” for successful babysitting and I decided to share my thoughts with other sitters like myself. I eventually hope to turn these tricks into a book for easy access to activities, random thoughts, and more that will be easy to take with you on any babysitting adventure that you may encounter. Please feel free to leave any comments on anything that you have learned. I hope to include multiple perspectives and ideas in my book.

If you have any questions, comments, feedback, or concerns feel free to either comment on a blog or email me at babysitterblab@gmail.com. Also for more immediate tips follow me on Twitter at babysitterblab. If you have an experience babysitting please tag me in it!

I have been a certified lifeguard and a certified horseback riding instructor for special needs children. I have had hundreds of babysitting jobs with all ages, personalities, and abilities. From working with Seeking Sitters I have acquired some parent feedback that I would like to share with you.

+Rachel was simply wonderful! She was proactive in playing with our daughter before we left and she related with her well. She was able to get our daughter to bed in a timely fashion, and our daughter bragged about her the next day. We would love to have her back!

+My children really enjoyed Rachel. My three year old woke up the next morning and the first thing she asked was “Where is my friend Rachel?” Her horse instruction is very interesting as well. I would completely recommend her to others and would enjoy for her to sit for my children again. Thank you Rachel

+Rachel was a great sitter for our children who are 2 and 4. They made Mother’s Day cards, played outside, she even organized our toy room (Thank you so much for that!!!). Our whole family would love to have Rachel sit for us again. Thank you!

+Rachel was wonderful! She was very good with our daughter, who has Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and our son, who has Down Syndrome. We would welcome her back any time.

I absolutely love babysitting and I love being around kids. If you do too, or you are a parent looking for some helpful hints please join the Babysitter Blab community!!!
